(p. 2.7) by: ‘A gcian 'na dhiaigh san chuaidh Eilís Órum go Baile-na-bhFuighteach maidion seaca; do rith gadhair an tígh mhoir chum a sracaidhthe, agus níor bhfeidir le cloch a dfhághail, air a meith dhóibh uile daingion ag an sioc: gurab ann san a dubhairt sí’. 19th cent. Paper. 21 × 14 cm. Pp. 14, now numbered in pencil. Scribe: Seaghan Ó Muireasadh (Ó Muiraoisadh) (pp. 3, 8), Muine-an-tSouic [Co. Waterford] (p. 8), c. 1882 (p. 9).

Unbound; two loose gatherings: i2 (wants 1, stub survives, no apparent loss of text), ii6 (thread-sewn). 14-18 lines. Margins frayed; pp. 1-2 in poor condition.

Notes and jottings: (a) stub of missing leaf. ‘A.’ (b) 1, inner margin. ‘a.’ (c) 9.5, pencil. ‘Casadh an t-sugainn.’ (d) 12, pencil. ‘Patrick Denn for the New Lights.’ You New Lights who are trying to propagate. 1 st. 4. ‘The following song represents a Dialogue between Jesus and a young virgin Lover. Composed by Patrick Denn, who died A.D. 1828. and is buried in the Chapel yard of Capoquin. / Lover -’ O good & loving Jesus prepare me for your blessed court. 9 stt. ‘Finished. Crioch ⁊ deire le Seághan Ó Muiraoisadh Muine-an-tSouic.’

9. [Pádraig Denn. A chailíní óga diaga atá faoi riaghalacha Ríogh na ngrás.] Beg. acephalous, Faisinn shuarach spiagach, air úr níadach na bioch go brach. 2 lines.

9.6. ‘Casadh an t-súgainn. Twisting of the rope. The following (which has been furnished by Mr M. Crean, Secretary of the Chicago Gaelic Club). . . . The music of the fine old air is given in the Irish-American almanac for 1882.’ Nach é an cat marbh chas ann na háiteso mé. 3 stt.
