Foras Feasa ar Eírinn

17th cent. Paper. 10½ × 6½. pp. 414; the old pagination, 1-391, begins with book I of the text (= later p. 25), skipping the no. ‘216.’ Scribes unknown; (1) pp, 7-302, dated 1641 ( p. 220 ); (2) pp. 302 to end, dated 1646 ( p. 368 ); (3) pp. 1-6, which are in a much later hand. Pp. 7-22 have been repaired; some words of the text lost on pp. 7-8.

Some marginal notes partly cut off in binding, Bd. in half vellum; red edges. The name “Emund O Kelly 1742 ” appears on p. 220 . Belonged in 1805-6 to Samuel Bryson of Belfast, who has written his name in several places. From Bryson it apparently passed into the possession of Robert MacAdam; and thence into the Reeves Collection, no. 849.

Keating’s FORAS FEASA AR ÉIRINN. The Díonbhrollach of the 1641. hand begins imperfect on p. 7 (= p. 34, 1. 8, of I.T.S. iv); pp. 1-6 are a late attempt to supply the deficiency, but get only as far as p. 12x of the I. T. Soc. edition. Lib. i, p. 25 ; lib. ii, p. 221 ; genealogies, p. 368 .
