15–16th cent. Vellum. 6 ff. Quarto, 23 × 15.5 cms. Three bifolia of a gathering, now separate but with traces of thong binding. Hand medium in size and generally angular in appearance; another takes over in places at ff. 4v-5v. In two columns. Text badly obscured at front and back by staining and rubbing. Not numbered by Major MacLachlan, and not listed in Mackintosh’s catalogue. Numbered 19 by Hugh Kerr, whose name or initials appear on every leaf. One bifolium, perhaps the inner one, found its way at some early stage into the collectionof Kilbride detritus now Adv.MS.72.1.31. It was replaced here by Mackinnon, 8 December 1908 (f. R.192, f. 25). Foliation modern.

First complete section beg. Cum nulla de quo ccon inter aquam et calorem naturalem. Ends incomplete “⁊ uair ele ona hanbai(nne)” = Adv.MS.72.1.22, f. 6r.b20, in section beg. Quodcumque membrus susceperit detrimentum. There are two lacunae due to the loss of a bifolium, so the remainder relates to the printed text of Damascenus (ed. Venice 1514) as follows. Ff. 1 r- 2 v: Damascenus f. 31r.b44 – 31v.a38. Ff. 3 r- 4 v: Damascenus f. 31v.b8 - 31v.b32. Ff. 5 r- 6 v: Damascenus f. 32r.a1 – 32r.b2.
