Between two newly-leafed bindings there ia a leaflet that says (in English and in Irish} : " I gcuimhne ar an Athair Seán Ó Laoghóg ó dhíoghóiste Dún ⁊ Conaire do éag 10 Márta 1937, do leasuigheadh an scríbhinn seo." [In memory of Fr. Seán Ó Laoghóg, Diocese of Down and Conor who died on 10th March, 1937, for whom this manuscript was mended].</dcterms:provenance><dcterms:provenance xml:lang="en">This manuscript was written by Aindrias Mac Cruitín for Éamonn mic Piarais Uí Maolruanaigh and his wife "Seabhán" Ní Conmara. There is an acurate date: 9-4-1721 on p.42 m. It is clear that MS RIA 23 L 11 is a copy of NUIM MS C 41</dcterms:provenance><dcterms:provenance xml:lang="ga">ff. 132  et seq. (féach go speisíalta ar chatalóg RIA, lgh 1714-16. ( féach ar. R 71 chomh maith). Tá nótaí ar na himill anseo ó " D. Cusack," agus táid le fáil i 23 L 11 (A.D. 1780). There is also a copy of "Beatha Bhréanainn"with the title "Ag so do bheatha et do bhás, d'imtheachtaibh et do miorbuillibh (sic leg.) Bhréanuinn naomhtha mic Fionnloga .i. Easbog Chiarraide." on p. 89. There is old illegible numbering on pp. 49-70. Aindrias Mac Cruitín definitely wrote (a) and possibly (b) it appears from the writing (and the signature on 68i). The ink is yellowed and decayed. Ongoing wear on a lot of the pages at the start of manuscript (a) and on all of (b), especially at the start. It is clear from the numbering that 42 pp. are missing from (b). It shows that RIA 23 L 11 is a copy of NUIM MS C 41; 3 B 10 ff. 132 et seq., cf. especially RIA cat. pp. 1714-16. (cf. R 71 also). There are notes on the edge here by  "D. Cusack," and these are found in RIA MS 23 L 11 (A.D. 1780). There is re-inking here and there (pp. 3, 33.), also a few corrections by another hand (E. Ó C. Written on paper in Irish by Aindrias Mac Cruitín at an unknown location in the 18th century it contains two copies of the Life of St. Senan together with a Life of St. Brendan. The manuscript was written for Éamonn mic Piarais Uí Maolruanaigh and his wife "Seabhán" Ní Conmara, daughter of Séamas Mac Conmara in 1721 and  came into the possession of Fr. Seán Ó Laoghóg, Diocese of Down and Conor (Armagh) who died on 10th March, 1937 for whom it was mended.
