Housed in modern archival box labelled ‘TCD / MS / 1326’ on outer spine, and stamped ‘TCD MS 1326’ (transversely) on inner spine. Bound in full calf, mid-18th cent., with gold tooling on spine; MS number ‘H. / 3. / 7.’ in gold on lower spine and on paper label on lower spine (part of label worn away); ‘sillanus de / nigris in / almansorem’ in gold in centre of front cover; ‘Vamped Feb. 1898’ in pencil on pastedown inside front cover; three unnumbered endpapers front and back, first front and third back dating from 19th-cent. vamping; second and third endpapers front, and first and second back, watermarked: crowned harp and William Slator countermark (for William Slator, 1753–8, see James W. Collation: i8, ii8 (?) wants 6–8 (three (?) stubs visible after p. 26) with loss of text, iii10, iv8, v10, vi8, vii8, viii10 (3 and 8 an artificial pair (8 attached to recto of stub of 3), pp. 119–20, 129–30) wants 10 with loss of text, ix10; loss before and after ix.
